1. What is the difference between Systems Analysis and Systems Design ? How does the focus of Information Systems Analysis differ from that of Information Systems Design?

System analysis:
Analysis of the problem that the organization will try to solve with an
information system.
It consists of:
- defining the problem
- identifying its causes
- specifying solutions
- identifying the information requirementss that must be met by a system
solution
System design:
Shows how the system will fulfill the information requirements specified
in system analysis.
It has three objectives:
- considering alternative technology configurations
- management and control of the technical realization of the system
- detailing the system specifications

System analysis focuses on the business problem, whereas system design emphasizes the technological solution to a problem.

2. What important question is addressed during the Preliminary Investigation phase? How might the information systems building blocks be used to identify the general level of understanding required for the phase?

I didnt get answer for this. Can any one help me to find it? Please mail me to : radhik_cool@yahoo.co.in
